It's a Special Day ~ Childcare ~ Preschool Program ~

Welcome to our large family childcare home. It is our hope that you and your child will find this a comfortable, happy place to learn and grow. We accept children ages two months until kindergarten. Our home has been open since 1992 but our new school was completed in September 2006.

A balance of active and quiet play is provided. Activities are developmentally appropriate for the age and stage of each child.

INFANTS: With a ratio of 2-4 caregivers to 10 or less children per day we are able to meet the physical, emotional and cognitive care your baby needs. As mothers ourselves we understand the importance of high quality loving care.

TODDLERS: We provide plenty of age appropriate toys and games with lots of safe space for this busy age to explore and learn.

PRESCHOOL: Our program is carefully planned to include to include activities with a balance of important skill experiences. The activities are designed to help children grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Our childcare and playground are structured so that children can move freely. Our playground area features play structures with plenty of natural green space for science and nature exploration.

HOURS of OPERATION: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm ~ Monday - Friday year round. References on request.

Who We Are

Kathleen Rooney:
I own and run our childcare preschool. I am married and the mother of two teenagers. Licensed since 1992, I have a C.D.A. in early childhood, and am a mentor in childcare for the state of Massachusetts. I am a member of the Sandwich C.P.C. I frequently take classes and workshops in order to stay current and insure your children get the bestcare possible. I love what I do, working with children for me is the best job in the world.

Cheryl Gilbert:
Lead teacher and a licensed practical nurse. Cheryl is the mother of three children and her work history involves nursing, teaching preschool and site coordinator for Mashpee leisure services.

Cindy Desharnais:
Lead teacher and infant and toddler teacher. Cindy is the mother of two boys and has taught preschool and worked with children for many years.

Terry Adams:
Assistant in our childcare. Terry is the mother of four children. Terry has taken cre of children for many years and is wonderful with our babies.

We are all CPR and Infant First Aid certified and are certifited yearly. We are licensed and C.O.R.I. evaluated by the state of Massachusetts, as is everyone in the household over eighteen years old.
